Hi,how do you delete mcvsrte.exe,apuc.dll,vso?I keep getting "access denied messages",and i cant seem to find the files in the registry.

I guess I don't understand what the registry would have to do with it. I'd look first to find out what application has the file open. This article may help: http://ask-leo.com/archives/000101.html

my luall.ex. is missing is there a way to get it back?

I would assume from wherever (CD or download) you installed your Symantec product from.

I renewed my Norton Internet Security 2003 on
9-19-04, received E-Mail confirmation and completed the installation per instructions. Since then the system has been infected with the Luall virus that has blocked me from getting into various sites. I have used the numerous instructions on the Norton site, talked to their technicians and also Comcast, Dell and the local library technicians, also a friend who teaches computer programs, none of them know how to resolve the problem.
In addition, although I have updated the Norton Security system regularly the virus definition date now shows as 11-13-02, ten months before I bought the system and says my subscription has expired. I have spent the last eight days trying to get rid of the virus even to the point of of trying to delete the Norton program and having to go into MD-DOS to do so, only to find out that it affects the start up program and I have to reinstall the Norton program.
When I use Live Update to scan the system is says there are zero virus' but I continually get a message saying "Norton has encountered an internal program error, click for more information about this error 30050597" when I click I get a blank screen. The same thing happens when I click on other HELP screens.
It's driving me crazy so any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated. Derrick Ratcliffe [personal information removed]

Tried to delete norton internet security to install a updated version but needed supervisor account to log in but couldn't find that. Now it says auto protect driver didn't load and somewhere along the line, luall.exe is missing. Have tried using CDROM but to no avail as supervisor account keeps coming up. I can no longer view any site that has security like email, banks, MSN. Hope you can help.

If by "supervisor" you mean an account with administrative access to your PC, your first step should be to locate that. Most of these utilities require admin access to be modified.

The symptoms you describe really sound like a spyware infection. http://ask-leo.com/spyware_how_do_i_remove_and_avoid_spyware.html
