Not in the separate applications, no. But I believe if you use a third party applications like Trillian that communicates on both MSN and AOL IMs, you can.

If Yahoo and Hotmail are free ... why am I paying for AOL?????? This is a serious question.

Because AOL is how you're connecting to the internet. That's NOT part of the free Yahoo and Hotmail services. You still have to arrange to get connected to the internet somehow.
