My DVD ROM is not reading CDs or DVDs. My hard drive recently crashed. I replaced the hard drive and after loading all my software back on the new hard drive the DVD ROM stoped working. It looks like its working and then stops. I deleted it and even had Windows rediscover it, so it shows that the drive exists, but it will not show anything when I put media into it.

Ok I read the article but it doesn't answer my question... My problem is that my cd rom will read some games but not all. I can't seem to install anything new. When I put a instal disk in it spins around once but nothing else happens. When I open up the cd rom file it has no info regaurding the game in it. Do I need a new cd rom?

Thank you.
