So, I have a (new) laptop. I have a New HDTV. I hook-up the s-Video cable to both. Now what? Do I need anything else? What do I need to do or configure to see what I see on my laptop show up on my HDTV?

I have a tv that has a dvi input and would like to hook it to my laptop. The manual says that all I need is an rgb to dvi cable--is this correct? And when I went to Radio Shack they did not have such a cable. Do they exist and are they readily available?

I get marginally more success from using a phono to S-Video cable (the shroter the better), but Leo's right the resolution is key.

All hail the computer revolution, hang on what happened to video killed the radio star?

Hi. I have an LG TV with 1920x1080i resolution. When I hook up my laptop via s-video to my tv, will 1920x1080i be the resolution that I will be able to see my desktop at?
