Hi, Leo,
Both current versions of Outlook and Outlook Express can be configured to download e-mail messages from Hotmail onto your local machine just like the alternative you describe above using Gmail.

Thanks!

That's actually not true. New free HotMail accounts no longer support downloading into Outlook, and it's being phased out for existing account. This article has more: http://ask-leo.com/can_i_use_outlook_express_or_outlook_to_access_my_hotmail_account.html

Something you could have touched on with this person is whether they have the Google Desktop Search Program or one of the other ones. My GDSP saves a copy of each web page I visit so there is a chance they could do a key word search for hotmail emails they are looking for and they may find them on GDSP.

HI IS THERE ANY WAY I CAN GET BACK MY SAME E-MAIL ADDRESS BACK? I'AM NOT LOOKING FOR MY MESSAGES .OR DO I HAVE TO MAKE A NEW E-MAIL ADDRESS?

Try to create the new address ... if it works, you can have it, if not, you can't.
