Can I run two versions of MSN messenger at the same time?

Home » Instant Messaging » MSN Instant Messenger

Summary: Unless you have two computers running simultaneously you cannot run two different versions of MSN Messenger at the same time.

Can I run two versions of MSN messenger at the same time?

In a nutshell: no.

MSN Messenger is designed to replace it's previous version when installed. The only real solution I'm aware of if you absolutely require it would be to have two computers, each with a different version.

Actually, you can run two versions of MSN simulataneously. There is the original (or at least, extremely old) version of MSN which is on the computer unless you delete it manually. You can run this and any other newer version that you may have at the same time. You cannot, however, be logged in as the same account on both MSNs, you will be logged out of one if you log into it on another computer/msn.

Hi Leo. can i get 2 e-mail addresses for MSN and if so how do i do it? :)

YES YOU CAN!
Get Messenger Plus Live! Add On
http://msgpluslive.net/
With that installed go into it's preferences and select "Polygamy".

Account Polygamy
Just check a box in the preferences of Messenger Plus! Live and you'll be up and ready for signing-ing into more than one Messenger account at the same time. No need to patch any file or use other Messenger clients anymore!

Hopefully LEO will amend his reply with this info!

Even I know you can turn on the guest account and simply have two seperate versions running at same time and simply "Switch User". Its not pretty but it works and lot better than telling people no.
