Someone set up a Windows messenger account on my PC with his login name as default. I can't get rid of it and I cannot get rid of his dropdown login either, despite following your instructions to the letter. The Add/Remove Windows components button just hasn't worked. In any case, I don't necessarily want to get rid of Messenger; I just want to get rid of his account everytime I open Messenger up. How do I do that? Any ideas.
Posted by: Richard Field at October 17, 2007 1:57 PMEven though the other methods listed here WILL work, it's more effort than what is necessary. WHAT is necessary is exactly what Leo listed at first. Go to ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS, ADD/REMOVE WINDOWS COMPONENTS, and clear the check box beside Windows Messenger. Click OK, and after it runs it's little marathon, Messenger is all gone!
