go on options then go on the tab that says masseges
and click show emotions
then look down, and click the apply button
remeber if u dont click it.,, it wont work
then click ok

i wish i would have looked at this before i redownloaded MSN twice... i was so used to it the last time, its so weird now. :(
To simplify your problem try this:
in a conversation window look at the top right and click
"show menu"
scroll down to "tools"
then click on "show emoticons" and it WILL work!!
yes insist to show emoticon in tools messages.
check, unchek apply close by clicking ok
go in tools menu
and check the menu show emoticon
this work

when you have checked the emoticons have been ticked in the messages, click apply or ok, then sign out and start again
