I seem to have a problem related to CIDAEMON. When I dial my internet ISP, After connection occurs, The 'SYSTEM' cotinually uploads data ( what, and to where I don't know) and this drops the internet access to 'zero'. After running for 3 hours like this, I noticed the CIDAEMON process had the most activity... Any idea what is happening? I am running Windows 2000 Professional.
This just started happening 3 days ago...
Read the article. I'd disable the content indexing service.

I've done what the article said to do, and turned it off sometime last week...my computer was working fine! Then just yesterday, I saw it again on my task manager...could it be a virus? How do I get rid of it? I've just downloaded win updates as well..does this have anything to do with cidaemon.exe reappearing?
