Posted by: Mike at June 28, 2006 9:50 PMhey everyone
i just go sims 2 and i installed directx 9.0c and it stills says i have 9.0b on mi com when i go 2 play the sims and thus doesnt wokr italso says that it had it on the cd but fails to work when i clik yes to get it i am so stuk and reallllllly wana play this game
Well I had Need for Speed Most wanted, I uninstalled the operating system I then installed direct x 9.0b, Every time I try opening the game it gives me some direct x error! Even if you try installing direct x 9.0c the installation process will finish without installing direct x 9.0c.So I followed the war's posting and it worked.
Ps:We need more people like you in this world.
Posted by: Jolutti at July 28, 2006 5:25 AMHi All,
I had soundcard problem, I mean DirecSound Driver problem from last night. Nothing really installed, I've just received this error:
DirectSound output v2.2.1 error Bad DirectSound driver. Please install proper drivers or select another device in configuration. Error code:
88780078
Do you think guys, DirectX reinstallation solves my problem?
Posted by: Tibor at August 9, 2006 1:17 AMHi all, I finally got this thing to work and it's not as easy as it usually is. First you do not need to uninstall DX9.0b at all. Just hit this link http://www.softwarepatch.com/windows/xpsp2.html and download the standalone version of Service Pack 2 released August 2006. Believe me, even if your windows CD says SP2 already, you need this. Install this service pack and voila "regedit" now says DX version 9.0c. And this new service pack also improves the computer functionality. Check it out everybody.
Posted by: Sol at August 17, 2006 12:34 PMWhy don't WAR's idea work for me? Do you have to restart the computer first?
I got the same damn problem.
I might try Sols idea coz my SP2 is beta
