How can I uninstall Directx 9?

Yea i just wanted to know why when ever i go to play diablo 2 the menu screws up and all that i can see is a bunch of flashing pixels, its really pissing me off and im sure its directx

I am trying to install need for speed carbon and it keeps coming up with a message saying that i need a higher version of direct x, though i have got the latest verion 9.0c. I dont know what to do can you help me out.

why dony u try 'DirectX Eradicator'? i have the same prb.. and to be honest..i havent tried it myself.just broadly speaking.

After hours of frustration, I have just used the Anonymous tip for removing directx 9 and it worked, thank you, thank you very much

this problem drive me crazy

I did as suggested to uninstall/remove Dx9c. It 'appears' to have worked as dxdiag now shows nothing listed for DirectX. The problem is I cannot install ANY direct X!

have installed directx 9c, however when i run dxdiag.. it shows directx 9b... now how do i un-ins tall directx 9b orupgrade it to directx 9c.i am using windows xp.

I HAVE A SOLUTION!!!!

Well it worked for me anyway.

You need both the 9.0b and 9.0c full versions. both around 30Mb each. Unzip both to respective temp folders. then copy and paste the following from 9.0b to 9.0c:

dxsetup

dsetup32.dll

DSETUP.dll

next you need a direct x uninstaller. i used dx eradicator from majorgeeks.com, bu there are plenty around

once done simply run dxsetup in the 9.0c version (which would be the one you copied before right) and it will install using the files from the folder it is in. and there you go you have installed directx 9.0c.

Happy playin, and of course I take no responsibility if anything happens to your system (I have to say that dont I) due to using this fix. Im still happily playin and since the original post i made i have had people email me saying it works for them to without problems.
