hey guys i slso had the problem with directx 9c so i was not able to play the game . But now i have successfully installed it and the game ran.here's how i did it.first you must have both the install folder of 9c and 9b . then open the 9b folder and copy the two files with extension of .dll and paste it to 9c folder. it will ask to replace , u press yes..then also copy the reg.file from 9b....Atlast ,, again run the setup from the 9c folder where u have paste the new file..check it out at run>dxdiag after u installed 9c.Yop u will have installed the 9c.
enjoy...
cannot play Need for Speed Carbon and the problem caused by not meeting the system requirement of the game. I already checked other system requirements and i noticed that my directX version is not updated (My current directx ver. is 9.0b) However, i tried to install/update to directx 9.0c but after installing and I'd checked dxdiag still the same version found. I'v already search for any possible solutions to solve this problem and it drives me crazy (hehe..) anywy, if there's any possible solution.. I really need your help (indeed) and to all NFS gamers out there! Let's solve this ONE! thanks^^

Thanks, Leo, for completely breaking my DirectX with your stupid Idea of deleting the Registry Key. Now the installer from MS can't run at all, and I can't play any games. Even my 2-d desktop graphics are choppy, although I am running a high end 512MB video card *sigh*
Hey Leo, I got a question about Direct X. I probably installed an illegal direct X 10 from a website and when I want to install XP Codec it says that I have to install Direct 7.0 or Higher??????? So, how can I delete this Direct X to install a new one from Microsoft official website??
Posted by: Vundo at October 16, 2008 12:02 AMIt's me again, when I Run... "dxdiag" it appears Direct X 10 successfuly and I ran all the Direct X tests and all of them worked proparly. So I am not comfortable about it from XP Codec is telling me Direct X 7 or Higher and I got Direct X 10 so please answer ASAP.
Posted by: Vundo at October 16, 2008 12:08 AMleo...are you sure you can't downgrade directx 9.0c? cuz 9.0c is the crappiest piece of $#@! I have ever seen, cuz it can't play games that need 9.0 (such as GTA SA)
Posted by: nocturneleaf at November 19, 2008 4:22 PMTo completely and easily uninstall directX, you don't need to " re-install the operating system" .Even more, you do not have to delete it manually.
Try this tool:Perfect-Uninstaller.
Enjoy One-click uninstall now!
I just Perfect-Uninstaller but DirectX didn't eve show up in the list of applications to be removed. I promptly uninstalled Perfect-Uninstaller.
Posted by: phils at January 7, 2009 8:03 PMYou should never have to but if u get dinput or dinput 8 errors when trying to run a game do this
u most likely installed a keyboard or other hid usb device recintly that messed it up the key is to find out what one and uninstall all the old ones and new ones then reinstall so u have no old or currupt drivers my case was a keyboard on my friends computer
bill gates team offerd no help unless i pay an insane hourly fee my reply to that is get a real job and create things that work lol
i tryed all these sloppy geloppy answers that are no better then anything bill gates can create himself including direct x and his shi**y A$$ direct x tool in the run command
