now I have the sims 2 and I install DirectX9.0c.
But when I click to the icon of the sims 2 it say are you sure that you are istall DirectX9.0c.then I can't play game. so I go to
dxdiag.exe my directxs'version is 9.0b! why it is 9.0b? someone can help me . I can't play game.
I just want to know how someone can sell a game that doesn't and won't install what its supposed to the 1st time an have the nerve to charge you $50 for the stupid thing. Just can't get over the fact that PC's & Software have come so far and something this little has effect so many people and no ones is actually fixing the probs yet..anyway I'm gonna try the DOS thingy and see whats up and if that doesn't work...I am gonna go postal on Microsoft & Maxis grrrr.. all that money for an Opperating System & Game (new even) that won't over write the way it should this is BS... gotta love monopolies!!! I so hate depending on so few resources & if you actually h4x them you become the bad guy...go figure! Mad As Bleep!!!

I paid 300 randfor the game and ive tried to install from the internet and i get the same problem help please

1st - uninstall ur current directx 9.0x by unsing Directx Eradicator.
2nd - close all antivirus programes.
3rd - make sure that u have directx 9.0 and directx 9.0c setup files.
replace 2 files : "dsetup32.dll" & "DSETUP.dll" of directx 9.0c setup files by two samename files of directx 9.0 (overwrite them)
4th - Run setup directx 9.0c
now , i can play "The SIms 2" by that way .

a cabinet file necessary for installation cannot be trusted
What is the problem?

same problem - directx wont install.
I install it from the microsoft.com (ver 9.0b) update page, reboot, and when i go back to the update page it still tells me I need it.
Anyone here find a solution???

i cant replace it whit directx 9.0 so i can play sims2. pleas help... =/
