I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM! :'|!!! Why wont it work?! I need answers!!! THis is so damn annoying! I really wanna play the game >:\ but stupid directX 9.0c wont install. AFter the extracting works the copying stuffs up with the same message as above (Did not install a required file) and then closes. Whats up with that :/

I am having the same problem as everyone else. i installed the sims 2 and then it says i have a problem why my directX so i went and tried 2 install it and it say "DirectX did not copy a required file". all i want 2 do is fix it so please help me!!!

whoa dude i tried like EVERYTHING to get the sims 2 to work
but it says that i need direct x 9.0c and then i clik on the option that asks to install and then the problem still occurs..please help

I just purchased The Sims 2. Directx 8.1 when ever I try to install Directx 9.0c I receive this message "I have a cabinet file necessary for installation cannot be trusted" Does anyone know what the problem is?

I just want to play my game :(

i want to play SIMS 2. It says "cannot initialize direct 3d, please reinstall directx 9.0c"

The problem with SIMS 2 is with your video card hardware. It must compatable with directx 9.0c or the directx wont install all the appropriate drivers. even when using directx supplied with sims 2. I have found several video cards that claim to be compliant but are not. Check with your vidoe card manufacturer to get the latest drivers.

I installed Sims 2 on win xp pro and had no problems! even with old nvidia mx440 video card.
