Posted by: Jeff at July 15, 2009 6:53 AMI need to import an OE address book from my laptop into my desktop OE. I need to merge these files but will the first replace the second? Thanks for advice. roj
Posted by: Roger Gelder at August 3, 2009 3:01 AMWhen I move my OE6 messages from one machine to another the "Account" column is blank on the new machine. Why and is there a fix?
Posted by: Paul Chapman at August 8, 2009 7:55 PMHi Leo -
When I go to FILE in OE Address Book, in order to begin the process of copying my address book (wab) for moving to new laptop, IMPORT & EXPORT are not highlighted, so I can't get past that point. Any ideas?
FYI, a simpler way to transfer messages to a new pc, is to copy the entire "Outlook Express" folder to the new pc and then change the message store on the new pc to point to the just copied "Outlook Express" folder. Piece of cake. Messages are immediately available, no import required. Nice thing about this is you can place the new message store in an easier-to-find place to help make the next migration even simpler
Posted by: Gary at August 12, 2009 11:16 PMI backed up my outlook express email folders to a disc and now I want to add them to the Outlook 07 email I'm using...can't figure it out. They are all dbx. files
How to find Outlook Express email folder:
First, go to folder option > view: uncheck hidden files and folders
Next:
Go to C:\ (or whatever drive windows resides on)
Documents and Settings
Username (your username)
Application Data
Identities
GUID Identifier (random string like {3B0FA092-2222-1111-A1B2-111A1AA1AAA11}
Microsoft
Outlook Express
IF THAT ONE FAIL, PLEASE TRY THIS:
c:\ (or whatever drive windows resides on)
Documents and Settings
Username (your username)
Local Setting
Application Data
Identities
GUID Identifier (random string like {3B0FA092-2222-1111-A1B2-111A1AA1AAA11}
Microsoft
Outlook Express
GOOD LUCK!!!
