Yes, I too am affected by the Bullseye Bull****.
I would say it takes 2o minutes productivity out of my day. And adds stress because the minute it pops up I play this game with myself to see how quickly I can close it, trying to convince myself that if it realises I am not even looking at the ads, it might give up and go away. Obviously it is not that intelligent.
But I must warn everyone of this - that ever since I posted on a bulletin board, stupidly putting my email address in my signature, I have been bombarded with SPAM and Spyware, not to mention PHONEY EBAY messages asking me to enter my credit card details OR ELSE my account gets suspended.
So all I can say is, NEVER EVER enter your email address as information that will be posted for eternity on a website. I truly regret that moment.
And Bullseye is still a problem.
Surely there must be a way of deleting the .exe from the system?
Hmmmm...

Posted by: PJ at November 15, 2004 2:01 PMI recommend if you are having trouble with Spyware that you PAY somebody to clean your PC.
Most people just aren't technically trained to handle it.
It's going to take an ARM off before the point is made, isn't it? Please ask a trained specialist to deal with the bear: Spyware.
Posted by: Benjamin Lindelof at November 15, 2004 2:51 PMOh! I just tried something really simple. You won't be able to delete the executable from your hard drive, but what you can do, is change the filename extension. I changed the .exe to .doc and it seems to have stopped the file from executing.
Could be the answer!
Posted by: PJ at November 15, 2004 2:52 PMProbably the best idea is to download a trial version of an anti-spyware and clean your PC.
I found 87 pests on mine (apart from bullseye).
More info:

Attention: there is also a program called ISEXEng
that is in the startup and has to be neutralized through MSCONFIG or autoruns.
Other entities to be removed:
bargains.exe
eXactUtils(registry directory)
I BEAT IT! NOW TO EXPLAIN... I READ AND NOTED ALL THE GIVEN DATA GIVEN HERE. I WENT LOOKING FOR THESE NAMES. I COULDN'T DELETE ALL OF IT, SO I TRIED BITS OF IT. PROGRAM FILE HAD A FOLDER THAT WOULDN'T GO. I TRIED SENDING IT EVERYWHERE, EVEN TO SACRIFICIAL FLOPPY AND CD. WELL,I FOUND WINNT PREFETCH AND SYSTEM 32 HAD THE EXDL1 AND THE EXDL AND EXDL0 FILES THAT ARE PART OF THE BIN FILE OF THE BARGAIN FILE OF THE BULLSEYE FOLDER! IT TOOK FOREVER, BUT I MANAGED TO TRY EVERY MANNER OF MOVING, COPYING, ETC. TO DESKTOP, DOCUMENT, CD, FLOPPY. I DIDN'T QUIT AND SWEATED TRYING TO GET IT OFF MY DESKTOP, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS EMPTY OF DATA! I THINK THE SECRET IS TO TURN OFF THEN TURN ON THE COMPUTER WHICH SEEMED TO CLEAN OFF THE STUBBORNNESS OF COMMANDS, I KEPT NOTATING EACH ACT OF EFFORT, SO I AT LEAST CAN GIVE A RELATIVE PATH OF SUCCESS. DON'T ASK ME TO LET IT HAPPEN AGAIN, ALTHOUGH IT WOULD BE INTERESTING. I THINK THE UNINSTALL SCREEN IS TRICKY, SO READ IT CAREFULLY.DIG OUT THE EXDL, EXDL0, AND EXD
Posted by: BOBBY at November 17, 2004 11:14 PMYou guys are hilarious! Is it a problem or is it not? If it was not a problem, then all these posts should disappear.
Since it IS a problem, that means you are in need of a professional.
Professionals have software ready to go: it's called Ad-Aware and it's at www.lavasoftusa.com . The tool allows you to fix the problem.
However if you do not know HOW to fix the problem, then you can't fix it. No 'Single Tool' will give you experience to fix it.
Our economy will continue to suffer as long as this attitude continues... just pay the man!

What? Who's side are you on? Why should we have to pay anyone to remove an illegally installed pest from our systems? Our economy is suffering by the lost hours and computer power created by annoying adware, let alone its removal. If it was a punishable offence (which it should be by now), we wouldn't need a bunch of 'professionals' to step in and make money off our pain.
You sound like you work for 'the man' - 'www.lavasoftusa.com' .. this forum is to help people help themselves - a community, for users to learn and trade advice. So let us figure out the problem for ourselves. We shouldn't have to PAY anyone to solve these annoyances!
Posted by: PJ at November 19, 2004 8:36 AMStart up the pc in safe-mode, then delete it, in most cases it works, otherwise ask someone gd at pcs ;)
