Could someone who is more knowledgeable than I am tell me if this is SAFE to do??? Not sure whether I should trust this or not! Thanks.
Sue
Run Spybot S&D in safe mode and it removes eaccelerator. Always good idea to run your anti-spyware software in safe mode after you have updated the definitions in regular mode. By running the application in safe mode, it does not allow the malicious software to start-up & therefore can be removed.
Posted by: rich at January 11, 2006 10:06 AMLet me help you Fellas Out, i AM a Computer Tech, I KNOW FOR A FACT THIS STUFF IS BAD! Sure It Works At removeing Virus, but its like allowing a bad guy into your house to stop another bad guy. Posted by: DahMainMan at January 22, 2006 2:58 PMI have eAcceleration on my PC and love it. As for the comments from the last guy I would not take any advise from someone who cannot spell. The companies tech support is great and free I said FREE..Who else claims that HUH ??? I understand everyone has an opinion but get the facts straight before you slam good harworking people. P.S . They also give refunds with no questions and a money back guarantee if you are not satisfied..
Posted by: Danie at January 23, 2006 2:22 PMI work for a computer company, we remove eAcceleration software infestations on a regular basis, I once thought it was ligit until I did alot of research on this product and found that it is listed as Adware enabled by many legitimate companies. Also notated problems disappeared upon removal of this product. If you really think that eAcceleration is not broadcasting your info (unknown to you) the feel free to keep using it, It is a free internet. (with many more companies tring for personal gain than to help the little guy.)
Posted by: Steve S. at February 23, 2006 10:42 AMI have had Stop-Sign / eAcceleration for almost 2 years now. I have never once had an issue with the software or any infections. I have been a software technician before in a past life and I know about computers, and their technicians are great at helping even someone who knows what they are doing. I have recommend this software to Many family and friends, and they too, love the software. This company went as far as to do a net meeting FREE to remove a virus that had buried its self in my friends computer. I do not know of any other company that will do that. Norton and the others...you have to pay $30 for every call. So I am sorry that what ever you guys are doing to your computers is not working for you, but maybe you should look in the mirror before blaming another.
Posted by: Katherene at February 23, 2006 1:56 PMI too made the mistake of downloading the "free" trial of eAcceleration software, and used it quite religiously to remove what it claimed were "intrusive" bugs on my system. I was suckered into buying a subscription, of course, and then things went from bad to worse.
Not only did those nasty little bugs keep reappearing, but other adware/spyware removal programs I later obtained kept reporting my eAcceleration software as full of its own bugs that were infecting my system!
I removed every trace of their software from my computer several months ago, thinking that would be the end of it--but to add insult to injury, they have kept debiting my credit card for their "service" which I don't even use! I've even changed ISP's & email accounts to no avail.
Companies like them who indulge in these practices give the entire industry a black eye, and are a scourge to cyberspace in general.
Posted by: Dean at March 1, 2006 3:12 AMok so can someone tell me in plain english how to remove eacceleration from my computer? i've tried using the control panel 'add/remove programs' and it doesn't work.
i'm not very up on the technicalities of computers, so i really do need the istructions to be simple!
Posted by: caz at March 5, 2006 10:57 AMI have been using eacceleration for over 3 years now, on 2 computers connected to the net. Had Nortons on one for a while initially but put eacceleration when I realised it was much more efficient at protecting the machine. It is more user friendly too. With this software and the intuitive firewall that is packaged with it, I have been online chatting, gaming and music downloading for 3 years. My strategy is: I use the 2nd (crappy) PC for all music downloading. Eacceleration is run once a week to clean it of 20 or so trojans, spyware etc. The main machine which does no music downloading never misses a beat.
Posted by: steve wilko at March 21, 2006 4:39 AMIt's possible some of the positive eacceleration comments are posted by people associated with the company. I'm seeing that more and more ...
