For Win98 you'll probably need drivers from the manufacturer. Windows
98 does not have USB flash drive support built in.

I bought a 128mb flash drive and connected it and Installation wizard came on and said installation was complete- but nothing shows up on my computer that I can find. I've tried unplugging the printer and restarting the computer to no avail. Trying deperately to save some family photos on a computer that has run out of memory. I thought it would show up and I could just drag things or tried doing a "save as" and nothing seems to indicate a flash drive as a choice. HELP! I am sorry to be so stupid!

also with this article it is almost incorect because on some computer you may have to manually install the hardware with neither a CD/DVD but actually you will manually have to select the C:/WINDOWS.inf file.

Bought an Augen mp3 player. I have windows XP. Tried to install so I could download music and got this message:Cannot install this hardware. There was a problem installing this hardware. What can I do now? I installed it on my laptop and it worked beautifully.

I am reallly a novice. Where exactly is the USB port or wherever you have to plug in the flash drive.

Thanks.

Unfortunately that differs from machine to machine. Front,
back or side. Back is perhaps the most common.
