I simply can not understand hotmail, Why change something that has been working for many months even years.
Whats the saying “if it isn’t broke don't try fix it”

Because you now have made changes loads of people are now having problems, I have too followed the instructions for the new settings with outlook express but its not working.
One thing you should do is make a new update for outlook express, not sod people about,
a lot of people will not have a clue at trying to change the settings in outlook, eventually they will lose there account if they do not login for a wile, hotmail will assume the account is dead,
Wot a complete bulls up you people have made.

Get it sorted!!

I hope you realize that a) I am not Hotmail, b) I cannot influence what Hotmail does, and c) I'd be shocked if anyone from Hotmail ever read this. You'd be better of contacting them to voice your complaints.

Effective 01 SEP 2009, Microsoft discontinued DAV support for their Hotmail, MSN.com and Live email account users. Neither the HTTPMail or IMAP protocols are supported.

Your choices are either web browser based access to your email account or via POP3 with your favorite email client such as Thunderbird, Eudora, Evolution, Apple Mail, Entourage, Outlook, etc..

Workarounds & more info here:

Hope this helps:

My problem is mixed: SOMEHOW my son has put Google as my home page and I CANNOT get it off!Consequently, getting to my msn sign in to access my Hotmail is so FRUSTRATING that I stay off the computer for days! I am NOT a whiz.still,I have tried everything that I know to remedy this and cannot!

I'm a tad confused. Are you saying that your attempts to set the home page don't stick (often caused by spyware, or anti-spyware tools), or are you asking how to set it back? As for your frustration about getting to hotmail or msn, just type hotmail.com or msn.com (or my.msn.com) into the address bar and press Enter.
