if I send a message to a cell phone from my computer and that cell phone has unlimited texting,and the recipient sends a message back to the email, will the person with the cell phone be charged to send the text back, possibly thru apps
I have no idea. It depends entirely on the recipients mobile provider and the fine print in their contract.

I use a company called ipipi to send text to Europe using my computer,one reason is my mobile service charges alot of $.I think there are more companies that do this and also for the States.

the program TextMessagePLUS from http://safcosoftware.com also does all of this. It allows a user to send a text message to all major carriers without knowing who the carrier is. Best part is the basic program is free.

it's been several years since your article and now there are several sites that allow text messaging without using your cell phone. If you lose your phone you can send yourself a text using a number of online services. A free one located here: http://www.searchbug.com/tools/free-text-messaging.aspx

i can recieve pictures and text from verizion cells but cant email back.

I am recieving nast txt messages from a computer to my cell phone and I am trying to find out if I know who it is because they are saying very personal stuff and I want to put a stop to it! can you please give me any advice on how to find out and have peace and quiet in me and my childrens lives
