If my email is an everybody@msn.com address and I cancel my MSN dial up account will I still have access to this email account since it's really a hotmail account or do I lose all of my email? Do the same rules apply, as you outline in the responses above for hotmail, if the address is msn.com?
Thanks for your help,
Kathy

I believe they are separate. I'd make sure to copy/backup all information you want to save before deleting the account.

I would like to change my email address to fit my name. I've read your article but I've also been looking for a solution and found this article to. Is it possible that this same association with your name be posible to change your email address without creating a new account. I would not like to create a new account because I've already a lot of info in folders in my account.
I send you a link with the article and maybe you could take a look.
Hope you could answer me soon.

Olivia: that article only applies to that school's mail system. You cannot do what that article describes with gmail or hotmail (or most email accounts for that matter). Your only option is to create a new account with a new name.
