Why do text messages received from email messages (email to text) have invalid sender email addresses?

For example when I send an email to my cell phone my email address does not show up in sender portion of the text message. Instead there is something else that does not offer response capability. I know the email address used to show up to allow for responding to emailed text messages.

What happened?

I am not sure why and would like to know if there is a solution other than knowing the email address of the sender.

My Company "Progressive Technology & Innovations Inc" Is currently releasing a new personal GPS locator that uses a SIM card in it that on command will send via an SOS button on the device its current Position lat/lon via SMS text. It also works in reverse, you can send a text to the device and get its current position. I am looking for some sort of user interface for sending the text via PC and recieving the coordinates back to an email, then cut and paste or click the link to get the location in a more timely fashion. I am currently using the AT&T Go Phone SIM card, but it will work with any SIM card. Any Ideas?

I understand it's possible to hook your cell phone up to your computer and use your computer to send a batch of text messages out via your phone. How would one go about doing that? i just got a dash (tmobile) and i've been trying to log onto my aol instant messenger screen name. however it says that the communication failed. only for my screen name though. however whenever my friends get on it and they put theirs in. all of theirs works. is there some kinda problem with my initial setup on my computer about the connection with the aol instant messenger? my internet settings are fine on my cell phone. its just the problem with my screen name when i try to access it through my cell phone. and yes my screen name does work on my computer. i use it all the time.

Leo - a txt msg showed up on my friends cell (Cingular) from an old email address (deleted username from that email server) that I use to have a year ago. Is it possible that someone created an email address using my same user name and then sent me a text message? I don't want to answer it to find out.

They also added video and ringtone messaging as well and I use it all the time!
