I have a system in which the reinstallation disk asks for product key number, which i dont have. I tryed to download the "keyfinder" listed above but the key its showing will not work either. I then tryed the "keyfinder" on another PC that does have product key number attached and this "keyfinder" listed a different key number than whats installed in PC. How accurate is this "keyfinder" and why is it showing a key# different than # on PC, and showing another key# that doesnt work on another PC?

I have window me and I am trying to find easiest way to download windows xp. I dont have an XP setup cd, So how do I install XP without the cd. And I dont have a I386,winnt.exe,winnt32.exe file that has showed up when searching my files. I got the error message Fastfat.sys corrupt or missing , when I tried to install XP by using the six disk setup process.

hello sir, i have a laptop ibm thinkpad t30 Windows XP pentium 4 (Mobile) CPU 2.0GHz
and i got a virus on my laptop and the problem is now it works with 770mhz. i cant work with anything with 770 mhz, too slowly...

if you want to find the current cd key for windows type regedit in run and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
the cd key is in Productid, or you can download one of those free little programs that retrieves it for you, and for the last time. IT IS NOT ILLEGAL

This key is not the key that is required to enter when you have to autheticate your product. YOu need to find an actual key and disect it so we know how it's converting the data we cant see into readible data.

Please read the article you just commented on for a way to get the key from a running system. The key is not stored on the CD, as explained in this article: http://ask-leo.com/how_do_i_find_the_windows_cd_key_from_the_cd.html so if you do not have a running system, and you do not have a key from the box somewhere, then you're out of luck.

I have a full retail version of windows xp pro. I have lost the code key and I need to reformat and reinstall it again due to some files that was deleted from the pc. I would like to know if there is a way to find out the code key of the cd. I have started to install it and I am in the middle of the installation when it ask me for the code key. I have looked everywhere for it and I can't seem to find it. Is there any workaround to this or any solution to this problem. Any sugestion wuold be greatly appreciated Thank You in Advance.
