The suggestion from Robert re right click on the flag then .. etc. was the clearest- easier to figure it out from his. Worked great for me. thks.

Thanks for the tips. It turns out my address bar was just hiding. By right clicking and sliding to the left it reappeared. I was able to drag it to its original place. If there are alot of buttons they tend to overlap each other. When you see the horizontal arrow you can slide them to hide or show them. Thanks everyone.

I also do not have an address bar and do not have an option to click it in toolbar. I downloaded IE 8 when this problem occurred. Now trying to get rid of IE 8 and go back to 6.

I read the articles and they did help me get my
Address bar back up thanks !
I r-clicked on the flag (uper right corner") then
took of the "lock toolbars check" Then L-click on the address area and draged it to the leftside,
then went back and put the check back on the check the "Lock tool bars" thats it !
Now I got it back !

if you right click near the adress bar when it appears click on customise command bar and go down the list till it says full screen and add it to the list.that should work.

You right click somewhere near where the menu toolbar should be, then click menu bar. This will bring back FILE, EDIT, VIEW, FAVOURTIES, etc.

To change the Toolbar settings: 1. Start Internet Explorer, click View and then point to Toolbars.
2. If there is not a check mark next to Address Bar, click Address Bar to place the check mark. If there is a check mark next to Address Bar, click Address Bar to remove the check mark, and then click Address Bar to place the check mark.
3. If the Address bar is in the upper right corner and not available, right-click Address, and then click Lock the Toolbar to remove the check mark.
4. Click Address, and then drag the Address bar where you want it.

Try this.....
Have a web page open....at the top of the screen under the headings: file, edit, view etc, there should be two different colors ...one that has all that stuff and then the web page that you are on. Place your mouse in between the two sections. You should see your mouse turn to where there is an arrow at the top and an arrow at the bottom. Hold the mouse down when you see these two arrows and drag downward. Your address bar should appear again :-)

most times i've seen this .... move the cursor to just underneath the bar above where you would expect the address bar to be, like right on the bottom edge of it until you get an up and down arrow displayed where the cursor sign would normally be. left click and hold it down. drag the cursor downwards and then release the left mouse button. most likely, you had accidentally hidden the address bar, you should have just unhidden it .... don't feel bad, in 30 years as an IT technical person, i've made WAY stupider mistakes than this easy to do thingy. you could fart around with registry entries etc to your hearts content and you wouldn't fix this, but you won't do it again lol

My adress bar dissapeared also and i got it back by going to VIEW, TOOLBARS, place a check by ADRESS BAR then you should see in the top, right corner: Adress. right click it and un check LOCK THE TOOL BARS. Then you should see a thin line across the rest of the standard buttons, place the curser on it and moove it up and down untill you see a two sided erow then drag the thin line untill you see the adress bar. hope this works

Thanx Fraser... I did exactly what u said to do, and it worked!... The first thing that I tried before I even thought to search the engine for an address disappearance was to restore my computer. I had just added a new program, and thought that this was the problem. After I did that and the problem was still there, I thought about searching the enigine for a solution. I found this page, and quickly did a Spyware check... I have 4 Spyware programs on my computer, and all of them found no Sypware to delete. Thanx again!

all you have to do is, right click the flag in the right hand corner.then click "lock the toolbars", so it doesnt have a tick next to it, and make sure the "address bar" has a tick. then if it doesnt show up, drag the part, where it say "address " under the flag and drag it over with the mouse. It worked for me.

i just lost my address bar as well and for those how still have problems with it, i found a simplier way to get it back. sometimes, depending on wehre you right click it gives you the option of locking the toolbars. if you unlock them you can drag your address bar all the way across the screen or where ever you want it and relock it.

I finally got the address bar back, but lost all toolbar buttons, and I'm still trying how to figure out how to shut my system down without using CtrlAltDelete--and to get rid of a dialogue box that has a script error in it. I was told this link would take care of all those things---I've been dsealing with one version or another of this for at least a couple of months.
There has to be an answer!

my address bar disappeared, and when i right-click on the web search bar it shows the address bar already checked, and I need my address bar because it takes me directly to the site, unlike the search bar which doesn't.
