You have to configure the PC's (that have Internet connection only) "C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\networks" file so that it will act as a DNS server.

Introuduce the both Ethernets network address in that file.

For example,
Middle Desktop-Pc have 2 Net Cards.

Internet(172.14.13.2)(172.14.13.3)PC-Desktop(172.14.14.4)(172.14.14.5)Notebook

Step1: Now add this two networks(172.14.13.0 & 172.14.14.0)in the Desktop-Pc's "C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\networks" file.

Step 2: Desktop-PC side Net card that is connected with your Notebook, go the TCP/IP configuration Properties, use (172.14.13.3) as a DNS and gateway address also. From Advanced TCP/IP Settings make this gateway priority 1.

Step 3: Notebook net Card, go the TCP/IP configuration Properties, use (172.14.13.3) as a DNS and gateway (172.14.14.4) address also.

Hi people
From my point of view i think router is the best. Because it has a fire wall in it and its very easy to configure. You just have to plug your computer's eithernet wire in to the router and you have to use the link which is given in their manual. Like http://192.168.2.3........... and when configure your router using that link , then you will be able to use internet in to your computer very easily.

How do I make the internet sharing for windows 2000 Advanced Server Domain to other clients computer on the network by using 4 ports switch. I assigned all the computer with static IP. They all are connecting and i can get access on files, drives on my network, but when I used the server to dial through the ISP using 56K moden I enable the internet sharing on the modem but the client computer doesn't have internet. How could I make this work for everything computer? Do i need to buy Router instead of Switch to be able to do that kind of work?
