With regard to rundll32.exe: it is run at startup on my computer for an external sound card (Creative USB Live! 24-bit external). However, it keeps running throughtout my session - if I end the process, will I lose functionality? I don't know if rundll32.exe needs to keep running to maintain the access it provides...

Regarding question 3. The humm can be even caused by interferance with other electronic devices.

when starting compu at crtl-alt-delete
a rundll32 is there and if i don;t end task my compu. runs out of syst. resources but if i use crtl-alt-delete and hi-lite rundll32 end task the compu. will run all day ,wondering if this is a worm.
