Hi Leo. I would like to ask a help from you. I hope you can email me your answer. Here's my problem. I want to share my DSL connection to a friend whose basically away from my home. My DSL is 512KBPS. How can i create a connection in which it's somehow the same with ISP where he can just connect to my MODEM/ROUTER using dial up connection. I have a fiber internet connection which terminates and connects to a netgear natting router and the router connects to the switch on which all the computers are connected. At present I have provided the ip address of the netgear router as default gateway to all the computers. Since the number of users increased it has become difficult to trace the activity as the console which I use to control the router doesn’t have many features. For example if I would like to block yahoo for a particular user I cannot. My question is weather I can have double natting or not?

What I mean is that will it work if I have a computer with two lan cards and the natting routers connects to the one lan card and the other lan card connects to the switch and then install software natting like kerio winroute firewall and computers on network will use ip address of that computer as gateway which will have two lan cards so that I can manage the activity of all the users using the software firewall.

My service provider doesn’t allow directly connecting the rj45 utp to the lan card on a computer.

hey leo, my belkin wireless router must have been doing that double natting thing... i turned my nat thing off my wireless router and hotmail actually works, but i can't go back to the belkin setup screeen...? where u choose settings for firewalls.. yadda yadda...

Hi !!!!

This is must due to the Double Natting.
Yes you can turn off NAT in your secondary Router and the Main Router's Router will act as DHCP server assigning static ip to the clients connected to it..

On the secondary router , you can assign static ip in the Range of the First router and then disable NAT

Leo. I have this problem, but i dont know how to fix it. I have a ZyXEL on the ISRA , and that one goes straight to another router. can i turn Natting off somehow? or is it really needed?

Because i have this problem, and i have about every 20 mins a disconnect when i'm in a game. it cannot Send any packets, but it can still Receive a little.

Can you tell me what to do? :( i'm out of ideas.
