You can't install Windows for one computer on another by moving the hard disk. You need to fix the hardware problem that your computer has before moving on - my guess is a technician will need to look at the machine to determine what's wrong.

FWIW: Gmail now lets you forward your Gmail mail to another address, which I find very useful.
