How do I disable the warning message when I view the Windows folder?

Windows Vista
Windows XP
Windows 2003
Windows 2000
Windows Me
Windows 98
Unfortunately, Microsoft neglected to include a "Don't show me this again" option for this annoying message. Here's how to turn it off for good:

  • The next time you see the message, click the Show Files link in the message.
  • Select Folder Options from the View menu, and choose the View tab.
  • Click Like Current Folder, and then click Ok.
  • Close Explorer and then re-open it, and you should never see this warning again.
