Microsoft has a knowledgebase article on something that sounds exactly that issue: "WJView error Could not execute main" error message when you start your Windows XP-based computer.

I'd:

a) check for spyware - what you're describing certainly sounds like it.

b) check to see what's running on start-up. Using that Microsoft KB article as a guide for what to look for, see if similar items have somehow been placed in your startup

Got To Run and type regedit
Double click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
THEN SOFTWARE
THEN microsoft
windows
current version
run
delete ANYTHING that contains WJVIEW

chances are that its adware...

I had the same problem on my Win ME Machine

If ANYONE TELLS YOU TO DELETE WJVIEW IS A COLMPLETE IDIOT...NEVER DO THAT...
