If you have Windows 98 the benefits of Windows 98 Second Edition can be found by visiting Windows Update.
I have Windows 98 - how do I get Windows 98 Second Edition?
•
Well, you can certainly run out and buy a copy. I found several on the web. However, as I understand it, the majority of the benefits of the second edition can be had simply by visiting Windows Update.
By the way, my real recommendation is that if your hardware supports it, Windows XP is a much more stable operating system.

I upgraded to 98SE due to my 98 going south. I'm trying to find out how to turn on/open the serial port on my IBM Thinkpad 600E with 98SE. Any help/ideas out there ??
