Helping people with computers... one answer at a time.

Sometimes critical parts of applications like Internet Explorer go missing. It's often the result of spyware.

I lost the general tab in my internet options, how do I get it back?

That's most likely a spyware thing, run a spyware removal tool such as Spybot or any of the other recommendations I have.

I have lost my internet toolbar which allows me to go to my tools, file, internet options, etc. What do I do about this?

A Registry switch may be turned off- sometimes done for security reasons or by spyware. Merely reinstall IE.
