Helping people with computers... one answer at a time.

LUALL.EXE is part of Symantec's "Live Update" but it's also is a target for viruses that try to terminate it; preventing you from being able to update

What is luall.exe?

It appears to be a component of Symantec's "Live Update" technology as used by their security products. It's also a common target of viruses, who take steps to terminate it to prevent you from being able to update.

I just upagraded my Symantec virus from 2007 to 2008, and now Windoctor keeps telling me LUALL.exe can't find mfc80.dll. When I try to copy it into the \symantec\liveupdate directory, I get an error message about not having authorized access.

Of course Symantecs web site knows nothing, as always. Caching!

Everytime I try to run LiveUpdate, The entry Point for luall.exe is Not Found...
I've tried running the tool from symantec for the luall.exe file, and i stil can't get it to work...

This is exactly what the window says when I try to "Fix Risks":
"The procedure entry point GetNextDlgTabItee could not be located in the dynamic link library USER32.dll."

Please try and help, and thanks for your time
