MSN Instant Messenger is unable to connect with error 0x81000301. What do I do?

It's kind of hard to say what might be causing this problem, but I did find a very helpful thread of ideas to try out on BigBlueBall.com; a site dedicated to instant messaging.

I have an error 80072ee7 and it says my gateway is offline how do i fix this to get on the internet.

Everytime i ATTEMPT to login to msn messenger i get msn messnger temp unavail... 80090305 and its just annoying i swear i've tried EVERYTHING to get it to work and even boughten products to clean up the computer and it stil lafter all that doesnt work anybody have a solution???!!!!??? PLEASE HELP!

My live messenger doesn't sign me in.It says something about"Your firewall is blocking windows live messenger".I don't know what to do.Help me please....

I found a solution that is simple and works !!!
I was told by the experts that it would not work, but guess what. Worked fine and fixed the problem.

MAJOR CREDIT to ALPESH NAKAR'S BLOGSPHERE

Do exactly as follows:-

Click start
- Type: cmd (but don't hit Enter)
- Right-click cmd.exe when it appears under Applications
- Click Run As Administrator
- Type the following: netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
- Press enter

Then just sign into WLM; you don't even have to reboot.
