MSN Instant Messenger is unable to connect with error 0x81000301. What do I do?

It's kind of hard to say what might be causing this problem, but I did find a very helpful thread of ideas to try out on BigBlueBall.com; a site dedicated to instant messaging.

If you are getting error like NAYEEM then check this Error 81000306 OF MSN Messenger And if you can't find a solution of your MSN Messenger Error then you can see List Of MSN Messenger Erros I hope you can solve your problem.

Messenger won’t allow me to stay
logged in, connects for a fraction of a second and cuts
off and automatically with no error message.
