MSN Messenger 6.2 seems to be causing me problems, what should I do?

I've seen a handful of reports of people experiencing slowdowns and other problems after they've upgraded to MSN Messenger 6.2.

•

So far I've been able to to nail down a couple of possible helpful links. The Ask Marvin! Forums has two interesting items: this thread describes a common slowdown and a solution, and then there's this item on general Messenger Troubleshooting Tips.

IMPORTANT: be sure to check MSN's own MSN Network Status page. Quite often if you're having a problem, it's not you - it's the service. And that's the page to check for the latest information.

I have lost my hotmail addresse despite I remember it perfectly. My old mail addss {email address removed}@hotmail.com gives me an code error 80048823. I have tried all suggested ways but unfortunately I still cannot enter in my FIRST e-mail addss. Please help me to retreive it !
