It's unlikely, but as long as you're not writing to a CD at the time, it should be safe to end the tfswctrl process and see of that helps. I'm hearing about lots of varied installation problems with Sims 2, I'm afraid.

Something like non responding, and when I try to end it, I cannot ever shut down the computer (from the Start menu, etc.) I can only shut down with the power switch. This seems to happen regardless of whether I have used the CD drive....
Posted by: Jimmy at February 20, 2005 2:08 AMThere must be another packet writing program running in the background. Clean up your start up program from msconfig to avoid programs starting automatically and residing in the background. Programs are clashing.
