Summary: If the time on your Windows Live Hotmail messages is wrong by hours, it's likely because you have the wrong time zone selected. We'll fix that.

The time on my outgoing mail is wrong, and I can't find the time zone setting after the latest round of Windows Live Hotmail changes. Where do I change it.

The location of the time zone setting has moved, along with a few other things.

I'll walk you through resetting it.

Like many of these settings, once you've logged in, click on the Options link:

Windows Live Hotmail Options Link

Then click on the More Options item:

Windows Live Hotmail More Options Item

And on the resulting page, click on View and edit your personal information:

View and edit your personal information link

Click on the Registered Information link:

Windows Live Registered Information link

On the resulting page, along with various other details you set up when you registered your Hotmail account, is the time zone setting:

Windows Live timezone setting

Make sure that it's set correctly to ensure that Windows Live Hotmail places the correct time on your outgoing mails.

Perfect. Hotmail is one of the most user-unfriendly things out there. I spent a fair amount of time trying to find this out until I found your page.

Wow! Done at last! Thank you so much. I've been breaking my head over this problem for ages. And their `Help' is totally useless.

Must tell you though, that once I pressed SAVE or whatever that was, it went into some sort of a trance. I closed it, without signing out, then opened it again, no change, then signed out, then opened it again and VOILA, twas done.

Thanks again.

By the way, WHAT ARTICLE ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? I've spent 5 minutes trying to look for what you want me to read. If you mean the instructions on how to change the time zone, then please don't call it an article.
